NOMI offers a selection of pre-set furniture sizes and dimensions under our ‘Standard’ offering. Depending on the product selected, you’ll also be able to configure the product using our online configurator that is located under the ‘Custom’ options (see below). Products
Nomi offers a standard power and data solution. The solution can be used on the following Nomi products;
- Gathering Table
- Slot Workstation
Access to power and data
The Standard Nomi offering has a trough that is accessed via a magnetized lid. This lid matches the material and finish of your selected table
Cable access
The Gathering Table
The pedestal base gives cables access from a ‘hatch’ at the base or you can place the base over a floor box. We recommend that the floor box should be no larger than the following for your corresponding base size:
- 450 di base 135mm x 135mm
- 800 di base 240mm x 240mm
The Slot Workstation
Access for the Slot Workstation is found at the end of the table and in cable gromets under the trough.

Nomi’s Power and Data offering provides an integrated solution that complements the Slot and Gathering ranges. It is designed to be fitted with power, data and AV modules, offering flexibility in configurations.
This includes;
- Starter Cable
- Interconnecting Cable (for orders with more than a single power box)
- Power and data options
For each box the user can select; 2 x power and 4 x data
4 x power
Notes
- There is enough space to place 2 boxes side by side in a single opening
- Data is a cutout and needs to be terminated by an electrician.
- Nomi does not provide installation services. These need to be performed by an on-site electrician.
- Nomi quotes/tables do not include power and data as standard, this needs to be specified at the time of quoting / purchase to be included.
How much space should I give each person at a boardroom table?
It’s important to note that this varies depending on the size of your chair and also how you want to utilise the table.
- For a business meeting, it is recommended that there be a minimum of 760mm for each person sitting at the conference table.
- In general, 900mm per person is comfortable and appropriate for a board meeting and is a good guideline for round tables too.
- A more spacious 1050mm per person is ideal when numerous documents and laptops are present on the table.
- If you have negotiations occurring and the participants require a level of privacy at the table, allotting 1200mm per person will give them this space.
What veneer matching technique do you use?
For multi-piece tops, we use a book-matched veneer technique. For longer tables, this provides the most subtle way to integrate 2 tabletop pieces. Please note that veneer is a natural resource and we are not able to mirror the veneer pattern identically.
Can I use a stone top on my table?
For stone tops requests, please enquire with us directly.
For high tables, we do not recommend any changes from our standard tops. |

Kura Storage
How is my custom unit constructed
Our online configurator provides you with a drawing that shows your unit sizing and bay configuration. Once your order has been placed the workshop will be in touch to get sign-off on your shop drawings (construction ready drawings used to make your unit).
There are a number of factors that come into how a unit is constructed. When assessing things like the number of sections – top size etc the factory looks at;
- Material availability: Some materials are not available in large enough sheets to provide a single top for example. This a situation like this we’d need to break it into 2 sections
- Access: When the unit is delivered how can we access your building
- Assembly: We have to ensure that the unit can be easily assembled
You’ll be able to work with our team to ensure that the shop drawings match your requirements.
How are the KURA planters waterproofed?
To waterproof the KURA planter we use e a commercial-grade, waterborne bitumen emulsion modified waterproofing that contains synthetic rubber.
It is Non-Flammable and remains watertight under permanently wet conditions.
What does the back of the unit looks like?
Can I specify other KURA materials to the ones available online?
Yes, Trade and Business users can select anything from the Laminex or Polytec commercial ranges.
What is the closing mechanism for the drawers and doors? Are they self-closing? Do we need to source our own handles?
Drawers are push to open and we use Blum soft-closing hardware – no need to source any hardware or handles.
What is the backing of the cabinet? Can we ask the installer to make some holes for cables/power cords? Or is there already a provision for this?
Yes, we can integrate cable management. You can identify on your drawing where you would like them and we will add them to your Kura unit. Our standard cutouts are 60 or 80mm diameter holes.
What is the maximum width of the top piece or plinth of my Kura unit?
If you are using our standard material which is part of the Laminex commercial board ranges, the maximum length for a single top piece of the unit is 3,200 mm.
The 3,200 mm maximum length similarly applies to the length of the unit.
What is the maximum weight capacity of my top?
For standard height, the weight capacity of the fixed top is 300 kg.
What are the planter options with KURA
To waterproof the KURA planter we use e a commercial-grade, waterborne bitumen emulsion modified waterproofing that contains synthetic rubber. It is Non-Flammable and remains watertight under permanently wet conditions.
When planting the units you have the option of using a galvanised tray or pots with drip trays. Standard planters come with only waterproofing in the quote – If you’d like us to add the galvanised tray please let your account manager know.
More information on the options can be seen below.
- Galvanised tray
The galvanized tray is totally waterproof and either houses pots or has soil added and is directly planted into. If it’s planted then you will need to remove and drain the water from time to time to maintain the health of the soil and plants.
- Pots with drip trays
The most cost-effective option is a plastic drip tray with pot skin – see images below. For a planter that is 1200mm wide, we’d recommend 4 pots and 2 trays.
You’ll then be able to place your pots directly into the ‘pot skins’.
These pots and trays are available at Bunnings or online.
There are also alternative solutions such as the below;
The blow unit has been planted with pots and drip trays
Does the plinth options come with adjustable feet?

What is the edging on the open shelves?
Edging for the textured laminate and laminate option matches the exterior of the unit.
Are the shelves adjustable?
Yes, the internal shelves are adjustable.
What is the hardware that is used on the unit?
For hinges, we use Blum soft close.
What is the weight rating of the drawers?
Drawer runners have a 23kg weight rating.
